Ground Check also operates track mounted Terrier 2002 drive sampling rigs and Karl Han hand held window sampling equipment, suitable for restricted access and low headroom conditions.  Spark arrestors are also fitted for safe operation of the rig in potentially explosive environments.

The equipment is suitable for shallow soils investigations and represents a rapid and cost effective drilling method that can be used for geotechnical and environmental sampling. Boreholes can generally be extended to depths of up to 6m (3m hand held kit), although it is possible to continue the borehole using dynamic probing methods.

The drilling method uses steel sampling barrels fitted with 1m long sleeved inner PVC liners. These allow continuous undisturbed cores of soil to be recovered, which are suitable for geotechnical and environmental sampling and testing.
